Maybe AI is not as good yet as we all want it to be. Yes, even here in Oslo, Ruter tested a self-driving bus in the middle of the city center. But it was removed… Could the accident in Japan be the reason? I never read about why they removed the shuttle bus here in Oslo, but this might be the reason?
Minor collision in Osaka, Japan
A self-driving shuttle bus at the World Exposition in Osaka was involved in a minor collision with a wall on Monday. The incident happened in a waiting area on Maishima, an artificial island in Osaka.
The bus, which is used to transport visitors between a parking lot and the exposition venue, collided with the wall after the driver manually stopped the vehicle and exited. No one was injured, as the bus was out of service and not carrying passengers.
Osaka Metro Co., the bus operator, has temporarily suspended operations of all five self-driving buses, including the one involved in the accident, while they investigate the cause.
Driver-operated buses will be used to transport visitors in the meantime.
