The World’s Best Mediaplayer WinAMP is Back! Media player classic at its best!
Almost every platform got a form of WinAMP. This is one of worlds best mediaplayer still, and now it is out in a new version 5.8. Back in the days before we got our music from the cloud services such as YouTube, Spotify and iTunes, almost everyone used this player for listen to music by using the MP3 music format.
WinAMP is still World’s Best Mediaplayer for any platform
When it came to players, there is no player that is more popular than WinAMP. I add big letters for AMP, because its what we wrote when we mentioned about the player back in the days!
Whether you like all kinds of skins, the visualizers, or just a media player with a ton of options. WinAMP was one of the players that had it all. And now this player is back! Yes, WinAMP 5.8 is just out! It is back with changes that make it compatible with today’s modern operating systems such as Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Radionomy purchased the media player classic WinAMP player
In the beginning it was Nullsoft that made WinAMP. Then AOL got the rights and Back in 2014, Radionomy purchased WinAMP from AOL.
This company promised to keep WinAMP alive, and it seems like they have kept their promise. Radionomy is now a company that keeps the nostalgia flow with this news that is just out. With their promise to continue developing WinAMP to improve its functions. Those promises were mostly seen with some doubtful views as Radionomy haven’t shown any new updates with any new release or update in the past 4 years.
Radionomy has stated that they are not stopping here and have big plans for Winamp.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Radionomy CEO Alexandre Saboundjian, revealed that a massive release is planned for 2019 that aims to add cloud support for streaming music, podcasts, and more.
“There will be a completely new version next year, with the legacy of Winamp but a more complete listening experience,” Saboundjian stated in the interview. “You can listen to the MP3s you may have at home, but also to the cloud, to podcasts, to streaming radio stations, to a playlist you perhaps have built.”
So it is nice to see them taking this mediplayer serious. Finally, WinAMP can revive itself. Big news for 2019! But also great news got released today about Winamp 5.8, which is released in all its nostalgic glory. Finally!
This is the very first WinAMP update in 4 years! With its expanding control panels, car stereo like skins, hard core settings, and its visualizers that you can stare at for hours, WinAMP is ready to rock and roll! World’s best mediaplayer is back!
Amiga platform got AmigaAMP which is still in Development
While Radionomy is doing a very good mediaplayer for the Windows platform. There is also AmigaAMP version of the mediaplayer, which been developed for a long time. Last version came out last year. I am personally using it for listening to music from our Amiga 500 with a 68080 CPU at Distrita. The 14-bit sound that Paula produce, is the best thing for my ears. So, I can’t live without it!
You might wonder what the songs which is listed in my AmigaAMP Playlist is. Well. It is the brand new album made by Psyria. This a dance music artist that is using Amiga for making lovely eurodance dance type of music. It is really nice music genre, which you can listen too on our Eurodance niche site here! And you can read all about it on Amitopia, where you also get some interesting answers about what sort of hardware and software that he uses.
Also our niche Amitopia Amiga Magazine site got a big Thank You from Psyria. Where you find link to where you can buy Psyria’s Moving On album.
