Without China, Alita Battle Angel would never have survived the way it did after the launch on the 14th of February 2019. The Alita Battle Angel movie actually earned more in China for International viewing income audience than Avatar in Russia. Not many people know that.
You could say that China saved Alita Battle Angel a lot!

In the USA, Avatar (which is also made by James Cameron) did a lot better than Alita Battle Angel. But this is only International numbers. It shows however how important China was for Alita’s success. They simply nailed the viewing numbers totally.
The opening weekend in China was only $6,384,998, so the fact that Alita Battle Angel increased to $133,397,096 in total income is really stunning. In the second place, which is quite far from the income in China. France in Europe is in second place but the movie only made $17,781,212 in that country. So that is a pretty huge gap.
In Norway, it started at around $300,000 but it ended at around $7,000,000 thanks to the Norwegian cinemas keeping the movie rolling for 4 months. It wasn’t until the middle of April that the Alita Battle Angel viewing numbers skyrocketed.
People loved Alita more and more
The movie starts with only the FOX logo turning sci-fi at the start. There is no introduction to the movie at all. A doctor is seen in a hug scrapyard looking for parts. Then he finds a robot with a brain fully intact.
When Alita awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize where she is or why she is taken in by Ido, a compassionate doctor. He realizes during the first moments of the movie that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past.
This beginning part of Alita Battle Angel is quite hard for many people in the west to understand that it is used to watch action drama sci-fi movies.
All of the Alita movie is based on Manga that Yukito Kishiro has made. So people sort of getting dragged into a story that is quite deep. It is, however, remarkable to see how Robert Rodriguez, Laeta Kalogridis, and James Cameron have managed to make people everywhere love it.
The way Alita grows up Makes us Love her even more
As the story progress goes on. Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City. Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history from the past. But it’s hard as Alita gets to know a street-smart friend named Hugo that offers her friendship that helps Alita to remember her past.
This drama to the movie gives the whole story a bigger personality. So it becomes more compatible with everyone. This special connection between Alita and Hugo triggers a love effect that also triggers feelings for those who watch the movie. And then when Alita starts to show her true strength in combination with all the feelings and memories she gets. Now that is a good trigger for getting people to love her. She is a true superhero and when you get to know her past, how she is and what she can do. You will fall in love.
The fighting techniques that she uses is also connected with the Asian type of karate sports. She has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. But she is smart. But that’s not all. Also, she looks is very Asian with bigger very beautiful eyes.
Alita opened peoples eyes for all
Alita shows that all kinds of humans should be loved and that triggered something in everyone’s hearts that understood the meaning behind the movie.
#AlitaArmy is a fantastic community that is doing a lot for Alita fans worldwide. They have even made a stunt with a banner flying over the Oscar 2020 event. They even want to give an amputee person a nice gift.
To show how passionate the Alita: Battle Angel fan base is and to give the film studios faith that an Alita sequel will be successful, we want to fly a banner with “#AlitaSequel #AlitaArmy” over the red carpet at the Academy Awards for three hours. The quote we have for the banner to fly is $1,810. Our deadline is Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
But we don’t want to stop there. We also want to raise money that will benefit amputees. Our stretch goal is $4,000. Money funded over $1,810 will be donated to Open Bionics. If we fail to meet our first financial goal of $1,810, all of the donations that we received will be given to Open Bionics. Open Bionics develops affordable prosthetic limbs for amputees. Their mission is “to make beautiful bionic limbs more accessible.”
To learn more about us and why we’re doing this, please visit our website: The Alita Army.
According to the Open Bionics Twitter account manager: “The entire process includes paying a clinical team, this is the only way to fit a hand, so at the moment the entire process including clinical costs totals £10,000.”
With this information, we have set the final target to $15,000: That’s $13,000 for the entire process of providing a complete Hero Arm, the $1,810 we already paid, and a small addition to cover payment processing fees. (GoFundMe charges no platform fees, but WePay, PayPal, and the other payment processors charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction)
It is fantastic to see what the Alita fans can accomplish when they manage to create such an amazing community that helps and gives an amputee a hand for getting a better life.
