The rabbit, called “Council of the Moon”, in relation to a Chinese legend has been made by the giant Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, which won a resounding success in Asia with his yellow duck 18 meters high.
The gigantic work is lying on an old Air Force hangar and refers to the legend of Chang-O, who lives on satellite earth with a pet rabbit, which can be seen in the shadows of the moon.
The “Rabbit of the Moon” is made of water-resistant wood and polystyrene foam paper.
In Landscape Art Festival, which opened on September 4, works of famous Taiwanese and Chinese artists, including Xu Bin, president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China are also shown.
In addition, the festival hosts performances of 28 arts groups from Taiwan and other countries.
