“After unseasonably warm weather triggered unprecedented smog in Paris, officials have taken drastic measures to reduce air pollution. Half of all cars have been removed from the city’s streets and the city is offering free public transportation and bike sharing.” Wow! What a bold solution!
This happened in the spring, until the air cleared up – time to ramp it up! Cities like Bogota in Colombia have been practicing this on a sustained basis for years – odd numbered license plates drive on some days, even numbers on other days.
