If you live in a cold country, you probably go around and dream of sea and sun all the winter, and it could be expensive to find charter trips to exotic destinations like Mexico, Brazil and Thailand… But there is one option… It’s almost too good to be true!
Tropical Islands are located in Germany, about 1 hour from Berlin.
Germany can offer an enormous artificial tropical resort. The complex contains a large artificial rainforest, comprising over 30,000 cubic metres of soil with over 500 species of plants. It has over 29,000 plants covering the remaining space. Sounds of natural rainforests are broadcast throughout from speakers disguised as rocks or other natural features. In addition to the tropical plants there are also parrots, cockatiels and budgerigars living in the hangar.
The Tropical Village within the rainforest consists of food and beverage outlets.
How to get there: Take the regional train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to the stop Brand (Niederlausitz). From there you can take a free shuttle bus to the Tropical Islands. Check out their website.
