NRK, which is Norway’s national broadcaster (like BBC in UK) owns the Christmas. All of the private TV-channels with commercials have no chance against NRK which provides tradition tv-watching for thousands of Norwegians on 24th of December. This happens every year, and is bounded since NRK had monopoly on the tv marked in Norway until 1988.
Big program-concepts like Farmen and Senkveld have to be put on hold, as TV2 (Norways biggest private TV channel) don’t even dare to broadcast their popular productions in Christmas time. This harms the commercial TV marked in Norway, but its only for few days. They survive! Let Christmas calm you all down.
