Mouth masks for keeping viruses away are designed for single use. But you don’t use them as you should. They can be a reason for the increase in Coronavirus spread. Because without knowledge these masks can quickly get bacteria and viruses both inside and outside.

If you do not have good routines for not touching the mask during and after use, for how to remove it without contaminating your hands and for performing hand hygiene after touching the mask, it is a cause to actually help to aggravate the spread of infection.

Norwegian health personnel says no to mask usage

Vaccine researcher Gunnveig Grødeland at the University of Oslo confirms for Dagbladet newspaper in Norway that the masks can increase the risk of infection more than you think that it can prevent spread to happen. In Asia, it is very common to use these masks but here in Norway, Europe health personnel says they can be a threat.

Gunnveig also states this:

“There are very few of these masks that are actually dense enough to prevent the virus from getting under your mask and hitting your nose,” she says.”

When she visited NRK (Norway’s national tv channel such as BBC) main news program at 19.00 (7 pm) named Dagsrevyen on Wednesday the 27th of February 2020, I watched it where she explained that the masks she has seen people use are loose and open, so the virus easily enters the mask.

“And if you wear the mask to protect yourself against the virus, it can have the opposite effect of catching the virus between your mouth and the mask and you can become more easily infected.”

Coronavirus spreads in the same way as the Flu

Coronavirus and the Flu virus infect people by transmitting viruses from coughing near another person. Then the virus spreads to the eyes, nose or mouth of another person.

The infection can be transmitted in three ways

  • Through the air, the sick sneezes or coughs so that the virus inhales or comes into contact with the eyes, nose or mouth of people nearby
  • By direct contact when the patient has got the virus on his hands and transmits it by contact with others
  • By indirect contact when the virus has been transmitted to inventory or items through the sneeze/cough or by the sick or others having the virus on their hands and others come into contact with the object

This Coronavirus not only shows the bad sides of media alerting and scaring people. They don’t inform causes and preventions as they should. Instead, they fill their sites with bold titles making people click on their news items. This virus outbreak also shows how different Asia and Europe are looking at what can be done to prevent infections.

If you see someone coughing. Prevent yourself by not sitting next to the person if he or she caught a lot. Also, you don’t know if the person got the normal flu or coronavirus. As we reported here we wrote about 30000 that have died because of the flu between 2019 and 2020. So, all sorts of viruses can be dangerous if you don’t eat vitamins and keep your body in shape. Eat fish 2 times a week at least. Here in Norway we also eat Tran which is fish oil that is good for strengthening the immune system too. But for preventing even more wash your hands as often you can.

Some vital tips that can prevent you to be infected

  • Wash your hands before and after eating
  • All men and boys should Wash hands before going to the toilet
  • All should Wash hands after using the toilet
  • Stay home if you’re sick. Prevent others from getting infected
  • Cough and sneeze in the elbow, not in your hands
  • If you sneeze in your hands. Make sure that you wash them.
  • Think of the others around you. Wash your hands before and after using the gym
  • Be respectful to people, family, and friends by washing hands before and after swimming

You should do whatever you think is best but here in Norway, we say no to using masks.
