One of the biggest music festivals in oslo, The Island Festvail (or Øyafestivalen in Norwegian) is located on the eastern side of Oslo city centre. Actually it is only located one kilometer, a nice walk, from the city centre. Great location, but that also means that the festival is in a resident area, and thousands of neighbours have the concerts, noice and drunk people on their doorstep for 4 days every summer! According to sources in local media, some people are so tired of the noice that they have deciced to move to a quieter area of Oslo!
But in general, the festival is loved by the residents of Oslo. It’s a popular event happening every year in August. This year artists include Royksopp, Robyn, Outkast, Thomas Dybdahl, Neutral Milk Hotel, Slowdive and many more.
