Linux is back on Playstation

Now you can run Linux on your Playstation 4. Previously fail0verflow have shown for Chaos Computer Club (The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is Europe’s largest association of hackers. The CCC is based in Germany and other German-speaking countries) how Linux on a Playstation 4 runs with a USB pen connected. But now its on the real hardware.

Here you can see Linux working on Playstation 4

Concept and Linux Version
fail0verflow showed off concept and made its Linux version available to others, but to avoid legal complications, the system that was used to get Linux to run was been kept secret.

So with Jailbreak version 1.76 out, it was possible to show the audience that Linux now can be booted from a Playstation 4 console.

Team fail0verflow is showing that they can run Linux on PS4. Basic instructions and Linux kernel patches soon. But they won’t deliver a full solution. You still need your “own” kernel exploit to run linux after the webkit exploit.

What is a Jailbreak?
It is an expression of someone that have hacked them into a system that should be secure. There are hackers all over the world trying to break barriers that bigger companies like Sony makes so that people can’t do whatever they want on the hardware that they sell. There are jailbreaks for almost any platform and Playstation 4 is now one of the hottest targets it seems.

Interesting to know what the next thing will be jailbreaked.
