Tbilisi is a city full of history, there is so much to do and so much to see, but sometimes being a tourist requires doing a research on what to do in the city as there is no much time in our hands. I want to write this guide on how to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi so you can spend your precious time doing something exciting and interesting at the same time.

How to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi

I will try to make a “plan” for you starting from early morning to the late evening, hopefully, my guide will be helpful and interesting for you.

Kick Start Your Day By Drinking Coffee At Coffeesta

Fortunately or unfortunately, a lot of people start their day with a cup of coffee- one magic mug full of energy that will be enough for you till the next morning. There is this nice place in Tbilisi called Coffeesta, which is a coffee shop chain in Georgia and is the most perfect place to drink a cup of coffee and have a breakfast.

From Danish rolls to salads you can get anything you would want to eat for your breakfast; Take a look at menu here. Everything is super tasty and affordable as a nice coffee shop should have.

Take your friend or SO, drink coffee, eat breakfast, have a nice talk- this is the best way to kick start your day. I would recommend visiting Coffeesta located on Rustveli Avenue as it is the easiest to approach and has the nicest environment.

This is only the beginning of how to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi, so follow along.

Walk Down From Rustaveli Avenue To Old Tbilisi

Continuing my guide on how to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi. After eating your breakfast at Coffeesta, I would recommend walking down from Rustaveli Avenue to Old Tbilisi which is my favorite place in Tbilisi.

All of the historical buildings are gathered in this area: From sulfur baths to old churches there are many ancient sight seeings, but Old Tbilisi is unique with its nature of mixing ancient and modern together like Shardeni Street and Rike Park. I would highly recommend taking an aerial cabin car (sabagiro) where you will be able to see the whole city with bird’s eye view.

Visit Gardenia Shevardnadze

When we talk about summer, what do we think about? For me, summer is always associated with beautiful, awakened nature and the next place I am going to tell you about, is the most perfect place if you are a big lover of plants, photography or just appreciate prettiness in everything.

Gardenia Shevardnadze is a paradise in Tbilisi, where the most beautiful flowers are planted by Zurab Shevardnadze, who is a biologist and became famous among Georgians with his sense of humor followed by his “Eden Garden”. I would highly recommend visiting it in the afternoon.

Gardenia Shevardnadze is located near Tbilisi Sea where various types of flowers, beautiful plants and trees planted in the garden. All of this is decorated so well, that Gardenia is the best place to visit for relaxation.

Another thing I have to mention is the vintage decoration of greenhouse, which would be the greatest for your Instagram pictures- but don’t go too crazy, as this place is for nature appreciation more than photo-shoots.

Apart from decorative plants and flowers, there is the cutest cafe in Gardenia called “Little Cafe”.

For me this is the most exciting part of my list on how to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi.

Just discovered the real Paradise just 20 minutes away from the city center. As soon as you open the gate of this garden, you are transformed to a fairyland of lovingly arranged flowers, pots, antiquities not to mention beautiful plants and trees. Just love it and can’t wait to go back.

Have a Dinner at Tea House(Althaus)

After walking this much you definitely need a meal don’t you? I would highly recommend Tea House on Kiacheli, which is my favorite place to visit.

From Belgian Waffles to delicious pastas you can get anything you wish for! Their tea menu is another thing to talk about: green, black or cold tea cocktails, each of them are super delicious. On a hot summer day you might want to order a cold tea with your favorite flavor.

Even though waffles and pancakes are considered to be breakfast food, they are the most popular among all of the Althaus branches, and I would recommend you ordering them too!

Their interior is another thing to talk about- vintage design takes Tea House on another level of coziness.

With these reasons, Tea House on Kiacheli Street had to be on my list of how to spend a perfect summer day in Tbilisi.

I love this place, they offer more than 50 different types of tea with varieties of cheesecake and desserts, main courses from the menu just great and very affordable especially if you are a tourist and looking for a budget dining experience.

Ride Scroll In The Evening Tbilisi

Scroll is the most Eco-friendly transport you can take in Tbilisi. The city is not that big, so scrolling around the central streets of Tbilisi seems like a great idea! That way, you will be able to see some of the sight seeings while enjoying the summer breeze.
