We cover this because its important and because when a natural disaster it shouldn’t be a difference if it happens in America or in Indonesia.
Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake causing many damages in Indonesia
Earthquake. When people hear this word, it makes a lot of people worry when think about the damage caused of it.
Yesterday a magnitude 6.5 hit Java island, which is the main and most habbited island in the world. Here all of the cities there were hit. Many buildings have fallen. There were reports of collapsed buildings, and authorities issued a tsunami warning for parts of Java’s coastline after the quake struck just before midnight on Friday local time. People ran into the street in panic in many areas and Indonesian television showed heavy traffic on roads as people fled coastal areas.
At least 2 is known dead, caused by this earthquake. However, with Indonesia being such a populated country. It is hard to know the exact number and it can be significantly higher number regarding earthquake victims.
Know what to Do when a Earthquake hits
Actually, this phenomenon is normally happening in part of world which have lot’s of volcanoes. We couldn’t prevent it, but we can learn what we should do when it happens.
Japan, as literature that i read, it is one of countries which hit by earthquakes very often. But, Japanese people knew and learned about theirs nature environments, its advantages and disadvantages, so they prepared strong foundation for buildings, towers or houses, and when earthquake hit, there are not so many damage.
Knowing and remembering the Earthquake Safety and Evacuation Procedures is an important knowledge for us. Indonesia is hit now and it would be great if the Indonesian government learned from yesterdays disaster and do whats needed to give the victims enough to recovery fully. Especially those thats been hit most by this earthquake.
