Scientists in Uruguay announced that they genetically modified sheep so they can acquire a green glow under ultraviolet light.

The scientists used the gene for a jellyfish that produces a protein associated with a fluorescent green color in these species. They then produced embryos of sheep through in vitro fertilization and injected the genes of jellyfish to embryos.

In total, nine sheep were born with this genetic modification. Now they have six months and are in perfect condition, the researchers reported. These sheep are seen as normal sheep except that glow when exposed to ultraviolet light, the scientists added.

Now that this technology was shown to be successful in Uruguay you can use for other genes of interest for scientists for human health.
