The Vizcaya Bridge is an incredible engineering task that you should visit and know about. The bridge is located in Bilbao, Spain. This bridge takes you from one side of the river to another without having to wait for a boat or take a long walk. You can also cross it by foot but then you need to use the elevators at each end.

This bridge is on the UNESCO list because it is so unique. On July 13, 2006, the Vizcaya Bridge has declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is the only Basque monument on the list.

How to reach Vizcaya Bridge?
You have lots of options as it is not far from Bilbao city center. You can take transit options like the Metro line L1 to Areeta (underground station) towards Plentzia or Metro line L2 to Portugalete (underground station) towards Kabiezes. The metro lines from Bilbao run to lots of towns and areas outside of the city, so do check it out.
Also, you can take the C-1 train to Portugalete (overground station) towards Santurtzi. The train station is just before a tunnel so you won’t see the bridge from the train.
