Ace Wilder wins, qualified directly to the Swedish final
Amy Wilder was born in Stockholm in 1982 and is 34 years old. She grew up in Florida, United States, but moved home to Sweden when she was 19 years old. Her music style is a mix of electropop and street dance, a kind of hip hop. Her energy on stage is easily affecting the audience. After many years of singing and dancing behind international singers on world tours, Wilder decided in 2012 to launch her solo career. She got a record deal with EMI Records and Warner Music. She released the single “Do It”, which has since been used in American TV shows. In 2013 she released the single “Bitches Like Fridays”. In late 2013 Wilder’s debut album, A Wilder was awarded “Best Music Album of the Year” at the Scandipop Awards.
She made her breakthrough in the Swedish music industry after participating in Melodifestivalen 2014. Wilder qualified for the final in Friends Arena, progressing from the third semifinal in Scandinavium with her song “Busy Doin’ Nothing”
She placed second in the final two points behind the eventual winner Sanna Nielsen. The song went on to reach the number-one position on the Swedish singles chart.
In November 2015, it was revealed that Wilder would compete in the first semi-final of the Melodifestivalen 2016 with the song “Don’t Worry”. She qualified directly for the final along with Robin Bengtsson. In the final, she placed third with the juries, eighth with the Swedish public, and placed third overall.
In November 2015 Wilder was announced as one of the 28 acts to compete in Melodifestivalen 2017 with the song “Wild Child”. She qualified directly to the final from the first semi-final, along with Nano.
We found her song “Wild Child” is standing out from the other songs, and her chances to win will be great.
Melodifestivalen is the most seen TV Show in Sweden. Every year every episode has more than 3 million viewers. The show always has 4 semifinals, 28 artists, a “Last Chance” Episode, and a “Main Final”, so in total there are 6 episodes before they have a winner that will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Final in Kyiv on the 13th of May 2017. We really think this may be Ace Wilder’s year in Eurovision. Now she is well-known in Sweden, and may easily win the main final in Stockholm. Still, it is impossible to know how the European countries will like it. But the sound image is modern and stands out from a typical Eurovision contribution. We also find Wilder’s “Wild Child” contains more variation and a good scenography, her dance performance and the dancers on the stage make to an unforgettable TV moment.
