We want you to keep the heat for your body wherever you are. We are based in the northern part of Europe, which is a part of the world with chilly temperatures that lasts between 4 and 9 months a year. In summers, we do have days that aren’t warm at all, while others doesn’t require survival tips at all.
We are located in a part of the world where Weather is very unpredictable. So, we know how to survive when colder weather hits!
After living here for many years, we know about what type of clothing that you should wear in all sorts of temperatures either its warm or cold weather. Especially here in Norway, where Distrita is located.
We use Celcius in this guide as we use this in Norway. The easy thing about celcius is that you always know that when the temperature is going below 0C, then ice freezes and rain changes to snow. Above 0C, our bodies simply can handle much more with wearing less clothes.
A wise thing to think of when living in a colder country or in a country that could potentially get a few days with chilly weather in a year, is to always check the weather and also follow what your temperature weather center at home reports and shows. +25C and up is warm weather needs minimal clothing thinking
Survival tips in these temps is almost no use. In these temps you can walk around with t-shirt, bra, skirts, shorts or even have a nice day at the beach getting healthy D vitamins from the sun. This is actually the perfect temperature that a human body can coup with. When it rains you don’t need to wear anything special. If the rain that falls is cold as it can do in many countries that does have officially winter seasons, then the temperatures usually drop down a bit. So, do check out the weather forecast. Temps in these countries can drop by 5C to 8C in the official winter countries in the summer.

+20C and up is warm weather that can feel cold for certain people
In the official winter season countries in the world, this temperature is warm or even hot for many. It is a summer temperature that is compatible with wearing a t-shirt, skirts, shorts or even have a nice day at the beach temperature.
Many people that lives in warmer countries which sits much nearer the equator will have a different opinion. In these countries its even a bit irritating if you talk about the weather. But there is always exceptions in the weather everywhere. Out of sudden it does start to snow in Iraq.
Your skin will usually manage to adapt to colder weather or hotter if you stay in a official winter or summer type of country for more than 3 weeks. When it rains you don’t need to wear anything special at 20C. However, if you live in a official winter season country then the temp can reach temps that can reach as low as 12C to 15C even in the summer. So, be aware of this.
+12C and up is mild weather that needs extra clothing for most of the people
There are a few in the winter type of countries that feels and thinks that this is a warm temperature. For a few countries that is near the northern polar circle. This temperature is a reason to walk around with t-shirts and shorts. Beach is however for the more experienced person. At this temperature and below it, we recommend to use a light jacket and thicker jeans. For some a sweater is enough though. You should never any part of your body feel cold or start to freeze. When it rains you should have a proper rain coat in these temps. In the winter type of countries, rain can mean that the temperature will drop too.
+8C and up is cold weather that feels different depending on seasons
In this temperature, our survival tips is about how important it is to protecting your head if your body isn’t used to it. If you are in countries like Florida, Spain, Italy and southern part of Japan everyone should have a cap somewhere in case of getting this type of temperature. If you get cold on your hands in this temps, you should buy something for that too. A thicker sweater is also recommended at this temps. Thinner gloves can also help. The jacket should also be able to handle the winds which at this temperature can feel way colder than it is. When it rains you should have a proper rain coat in these temps. The rain coat should also be able to handle cold winds. Make sure that you have bought this type of clothes. They fit perfectly in a place where its easy to reach if you would need them.

+/-0C and up is cold weather that requires people to use thicker clothes
Now your skin will have issues if youre not protecting it. Unless you got a very thick skin like the eskimos, you need to protect your skin with clothes. In this temperature range you also don’t really know if its going to snow or not. Be prepared! You need to wear a proper cap, proper scarf, proper long armed shirt, proper sweater, great gloves and a proper jacket. Do always follow the weather forecast when these temps have been reached. When it rains you should have a proper rain coat in these temps. The rain coat should be thicker and also be able to handle cold winds. Make sure that you have bought this type of clothes. If people lives in countries like Florida, Spain, Italy and southern part of Japan everyone where cold temps can shock. If you have this clothes available, then you can for sure say “There’s no such thing as bad or cold weather, only unsuitable clothing”.
-8C and up is freezing temperatures that requires thick clothes and reading any survival tips for the best protection
Once the temperature is below 0C, everything freezes. This means that any part of the skin that is into open air can potentially be a risk. Between 0C and -8C the freezing temp is not so extreme, but be aware. Cover every part of your body. You really need to protect your skin with clothes even more in these temps. In this temperature range it can snow and if its clear sky its very cold. If there is any wind, it will always feel much colder in these temps. Be prepared! You need to wear a proper cap, proper scarf, proper long armed shirt, proper sweater, proper gloves, proper jacket, thicker jeans and thick shoes. Do always follow the weather forecast when these temps have been reached. When it snows you should always have warm gloves, warm jeans and shoes that can protect you from snow. Also! Be aware if the temperature is around -2C to 0C. It can rain! And if it is -2C and rain, then it instant freezes to ice on the ground. So, do allways check the weather.
-12C and up is freezing cold temperatures that needs proper clothes
In these temperatures it is important to wear a proper cap, proper scarf, proper long armed shirt, proper sweater, proper gloves, proper jacket with head protecting cap, thicker jeans and thick shoes. Do always follow the weather forecast when these temps have been reached. When it snows you should always have warm gloves, warm jeans and shoes that can protect you from snow and freezing temperatures. If your body gets to cold, you should always be able to protect your body.
